The floor seems to move backwards at some speeds or goes back to moving really slowly. Neat game, but I wish I could help you in fixing that

Hi! Yes. It's fixed in the next update along with a few other things. Hopefully 'i'll upload it tomorrow when the game jam is over.

Thanks for playing!

Amazing game! Really enjoyed.

Hi! I'm glad you liked it!

Short but very fun

Yes, it's a game made for a game jam, I wanted people to get through the content in under 15 minutes. I'll probably add more elements and goals to keep people enternained for longer. Thanks for playing!

Ah makes sense. You did very well at making it feel like you were getting faster, which made it way more fun

Nice Game, wish i could play more but it started bugging out the game engine at 1001x Lightspeed

Yeah, sorry about that! it was supposed to be for a game jam, I wasn't expecting people to reach 1000 speed of light! I'll fix it when the jam is over (I can't modify the game during that period). Thanks for playing and for your feedback!

Nice game! Please add max Level buttons, so that is no required to multiple click on Upgrade Levels. Thanks!

70.1 speed of light :D NEW RECORD!

I'll add that to the backlog, thanks for playing!!

not a bad game  i think this would be a good frame work for a bigger game

That's exactly what it is. I made it in one day for a game jam, I'll probably add a few more elements when the jam finishes. Thanks for playing!!

I dunno I like spam clickers

(-1)

Why?

Oh WOW! That's a lot of "c"!

Fun little game!

Nice! I'm glad you had fun!

Why are spam clickers still being made? And why is this tagged as idle?

(+1)

Hi.

First of all, this game is competing in a Game Jam, unfortunately Itch.io makes you publish the game to the whole world so maybe that's why you got that in your feed. I'm sorry you don't like these kind of games, but a lot of people seem to enjoy them and this is why more are still being made every day.

The game is supposed to go idle but there's a bug. You'd get coins with time depending on your speed but it would break the math of the game so I had to disable it last minute before the deadline of the Game Jam. But I can't edit the game until the jam is over so I'll later remove the tag until I fix the issue.

Still I don't know what's wrong with "spam clickers", would you help me understand? I'm seriously asking, a lot of people still like them. I want to know your opinion, what people like or dislike about those games and how would you fix it. Again, I'm not being sarcastic, I'd serously like your opinion.

Thanks.

Spam clickers were popular 10+ years ago because that was pretty much the only type of idle game made at the time. People quickly realised how annoying having to click hundreds of time is, especially if the game is advertised as "idle", so they stopped making them.

You have to spam click even after you unlock the skateboard which makes no sense, and upgrading your speed is pointless because it doesn't help you get more coins or automate earning coins, it just changes a number on the screen slightly, it doesn't interact with anything else.

This game is just a much worse version of "build a spaceship" by Hevipelle, in that game you earn money per second based on distance travelled, so upgrading speed is relevant and feels meaningful. Also the goal that you are travelling towards is clear.

Well, technically you should spam click after you get a skateboard. They don't push you by their own, you have to make the physical effort of kicking the ground so it makes sense you still have to click. Oh, BTW, spam clickers are still VERY popular today, I know because I study the idle/incremental market and I see all the time spam clickers with thousands of players, even paying money for them. I'm glad you're able to express your discontent here but at least this one is free.

Still, as I said, the idle thing was a bug and I already fixed it. The game will go idle and give you coins over time depending on your upgrades' levels, it's coming on the next release after the game jam.

Keep in mind I made this game in one day for the jam this sunday, so a bit of patience would be much appreciated, I'm not Ubisoft, I'm just a solo dev, I didn't really have time to polish it and I can't update it until the jam ends so hopefully I'll improve the gameplay and a few elements soon. A new engine is coming, a tooltip with stats/information about the upgrades, MAX BUY button and a few more fixes.

Thanks for the feedback.

It seems at the very least the skateboard doesn't help with coin gain so you're stuck clicking for one coin per click.

Sorry, it's a bug.

First of all, this was submitted for a game jam. The game would automatically give you coins depending on your top speed, but it would break the math of the game (giving you too much money too quickly) so I had to disable it and deliver it as is before the game jam's deadline. I'll try to fix it but I'm going to have to wait for the voting period of the jam to update the game.

Sorry for the inconvenience and thanks for playing!

THIS GAME IS AWESOME

i'm so fast

(+1)

Well technically the snail only reached 1/3600 of the speed of light

Light travels at roughly 300,000 Km/S and you "only" need to achieve 300,000 Km/H what is like 7,5 time the escape velocity.

(1 edit) (+1)

Oh you're right! I messed up the units. It started with m/s but it was way too fast for a snail so I ended up switching them to m/h but I forgot to change the multiplication factor.

Still, this was more like a proof of concept and I did this in one day so mistakes were going to be made. The game jam was three days but I spent two developing a game that ultimattely didn't work, and I had to make FTL Snail from scratch on Sunday. But yes, you're correct, I might fix the units when the voting is over, sorry for that, thanks for the feedback!
